Hi, I'm Carla, and I live in Fukuoka, Japan.

Before moving here, I visited Japan many times as a tourist. Each time I went back home, I felt a kind of separation anxiety. I missed the convenience stores, the places I had explored, the atmosphere, and all the little details that made my time in Japan so special.

The problem was that most souvenirs I found were too generic. They didn't capture the feelings I wanted to hold onto. I wanted something that reminded me of the exact moments I loved, something that carried the nostalgia of my trips.

That is why I started Waku-Waku Japan. Today, I create collectible mugs inspired by the places, experiences, and little details that make Japan special to me. Each design captures something unique about a place, from the energy of Tokyo to the flavors of Fukuoka and the landscapes of Kumamoto, so you can keep a little piece of your favorite Japan memories with you long after your trip.

Waku-Waku Japan is also connected to another passion of mine: sharing Japan through travel content on Instagram. As the shop grows, I hope to reinvest into better photography and video equipment so I can continue creating and sharing even more of the places, experiences, and little details that make Japan special to me.
